Newt Gingrich, will be Mitt Romney's VP selection.
73It would be the best move Romney could make.
Well here we are, only two months away from the nations first of many primaries. We are starting to see the same old mud slinging, heated debates; and the same old rhetoric that most Americans have learned to close there minds too. We have seen Rick Perry enter the race like a supernova and then implode just as quickly. So far, it has been the politics as usual. Now, the only constant is what to expect this time of year.
I have been watching this election cycle very closely because of the great significance this one has for our country. We are at the tipping point, and there is no doubt about it. So far from what I have seen, it most definitely looks like Mitt Romney will run away with the republican nomination. So I kept asking myself who would he chose for a running mate? What person would be the greatest asset to his campaign? After going through all the debates and latest polls, I started seeing the most obvious choice; Newt Gingrich. We should all remember that very early on in his campaign that he took a trip to Greece. When he came back many of his senior advisers resigned or were fired. He basically started from scratch that day. I will say that like many others his campaign has had it's ups and downs, but he has managed to bounce back after once being thought out. Now he is gaining a-lot of traction it seems in the polls and among the first four primary states. When Mitt goes to look at him he says a very solid republican politician. He was speaker for the House of Representatives during the Clinton years, he was also a congressman for Georgia for twenty years straight. He comes across as a social conservative to most and that is exactly what Romney needs right now since he is constantly under-fire for his health care bill. Not to mention that most people would and do see Newt as a natural fit for the VP position, especially when compared next to Joe Biden (for those who don't know he is our current vice president)!
Of course I could be wrong and Romney(if he even gets the republican nomination) may very well chose someone out of left field. We still have that taste in our mouth's from who John McCain chose, but I do believe this is a very promising way on how this coming years election will play out.
Update- 12/22/11 George H.W.Bush has just announced that he will back Mitt Romney for the Republican nomination.
Update 5/02/12 Newt Gingrich will briefly mention presumptive nominee Mitt Romney and signal support for his candidacy when the former House speaker suspends his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination on Wednesday, Gingrich's spokesman R.C. Hammond said.
Update 5/19/12 So Mittens has pretty much wrapped this thing up, but he is having a tough time gaining all his delegates in order. Ron Paul has swore to stick in this thing till the end and his is putting a big monkey wrench in the "TEAM ROMNEY AMERICAN DREAM MACHINE". We will see if Dr. Paul is able to get a good trade for his delegates in the Romney Adminstration, if there is one.
