When zombies attack! part 5

Time to go.

"Mess with the best, die like the rest." Jeff said after he pulled the trigger. I just stood there shaking my head at him. "Alright guys, we got to go and find out what is going on around here." I knew it was only a matter of time before this whole town was under siege, and probably martial law as well. The screams and gunfire had died down, and I was starting to wonder if we were the only one's alive in the school. As we started to make our way out to the front were Jeff's car was, officer Howzitwintz came around the corner followed by another cop. He had his gun drawn in anticipation and ready to shoot when we came face to face. Jeff held the shotgun at waist level and pointed it at Howzitwintz, Howzitwintz in turn took the gun out of my face and pointed it at Jeff. I was already shaken and now I was in the middle of a fricking gun fight at point blank range?! "We are very much alive and not shooting anybody, right Jeff?" I pleaded to Howzitwintz. "Jeff, would you please lower your weapon?" I said as soothingly as I could while staring at officer Howzitwintz. "Why do I have to put my gun down first, when this pig has his pointed at me!?" "Stand down now kid, or I'll blow your head off your shoulders!" The other cop said. He now had his gun pointed at Jeff and was shaking. "Son, put the gun down, now." Howzitwintz said calmly. It looked like nobody was wiling to give an inch, when the shot rang out.

A zombie had somehow gotten a hold of the officer that was behind Howzitwintz with no one seeing or hearing it, probably because of us all being preoccupied with the stand-off. The cop shrieked as blood started spurting from the wound on his neck where the zombie was biting him. Howzitwintz immediately turned and executed a perfect between the eyes head shot on the zombie. As it fell backwards, the cop collapsed to the floor. Both were dead before impact. As Howzitwintz went to check on his buddy, who was clearly gone, I turned to see Ardie collapse to the floor. From the spot of blood that was quickly getting larger I could see she had been hit in the chest. I ran over to where she was already being attended to by Jeff and Shane. "Oh my God, please don't die on me Ardie!" Jeff was crying out. "You can't die, I'm still a virgin!"

"Jeff, I'm not dead yet you moron." Ardie told him a little above a whisper. "We need to get this girl to a hospital fast." Howzitwintz said as he walked towards us. "Can you carry her?" He quickly asked Shane. "Yea, let's just get out of here." As Shane picked up Ardie, she yelled out in pain. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you." "We need to move fast, my car is in the school parking lot, but I grabbed Johnson's keys so we can use his cruiser which is right out front." Howzitwintz told me as we started walking towards the front doors. "My car is right next to the cop's car as well, and I can put her in my backseat where she will have more room." Jeff told him as we made our way through the halls that were now streaked with blood. We quickly made our way out of the school to the police cruiser out front. Ardie was going in and out of consciousness, and she had already lost a lot of blood. Shane softly put her in Jeff's backseat. "Just follow me and I'll make sure that the hospital is ready for her." Howzitwintz told us as he got into the cruiser. Jeff got behind the wheel while I got in the passenger seat. Shane said he would stay in the back and do what he could for Ardie. Howzitwintz pulled out in front and we followed him.

"I can't believe that I got shot." Ardie said to us. "I can't believe that zombies are real. I wonder how this happened?" "Well try to figure this out when we get to the hospital." I told her. We all started looking out our windows, and could not believe what we were seeing. It looked like the town had gone mad. Fires had broken out all around town. People were lying dead in the street, and emergency personal were nowhere to be found. Some cars had smashed into building, while others had crashed into each other. I looked on in horror as people were being chased by zombies, some were caught and ripped into like cantaloupes. We had to weave though the carnage on the road while staying behind officer Howzitwintz. "We are two blocks away from the hospital, but I have not been able to reach anyone at the station or the hospital." Howzitwintz said over the car's PA system. When we turned the next corner the hospital came into view, and we saw why no one was answering.
